Lesson Program
We are pleased to offer a quality lesson program at our farm in Huger, South Carolina. We offer hunter/jumper lessons including grooming, proper care of your horse or pony as well as competition training. We have a proven track record of producing top ponies and riders for the "A" circuit hunter ring. We have a select group of lesson horses and ponies as well as show ponies available for in-house leases. As we are a pony breeding farm, we specialize in ponies and most of our mounts are ponies of various sizes, but we do have a selection of horses for our taller students. We have several instructors offering lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.
2023 Rates (effective 4/1/2023)
1 hour private lesson $85
1/2 hour private lesson (if riding more than once per week and over age 12) $65
1 hour group (up to 4 students and subject to availability) $60
Lessons must be purchased at a minimum of once per week/month and must be paid for at the beginning of each month. We will try to place students in group or semi-private lessons when desired if we have students of similar riding skills available to lesson with. Of course, if 2 or more students would like to lesson together, we will try to accommodate that request. Beginner riders must take private lessons for at least one month to learn safety protocol. Helmets and boots must be worn during lessons. Students will be expected to assist with grooming and tacking their mounts as skill allows. No cancellations are allowed, however, makeup times will be offered for lessons that are missed due to unavoidable circumstances when we have been notified at least 24 hours in advance.
We also have "on-farm" pony and horse lease packages available which includes full board, one lesson a week and additional riding options for your child to have the experience owning his or her "own" pony without the full expense and responsibility of owning one.
